How to Search Twitter Images

• For basic search: Go to Twitter.com, select Search Twitter, enter search term(s), select Photos to filter out tweets without images.
• Advanced search: Search Twitter > search term > Enter > Search filters > Advanced search > enter search term(s) > Search > Photos.

This article explains two ways on how to search for Twitter images. Instructions apply only to Twitter.com in a desktop or mobile web browser.

How to Do a Basic Twitter Image Search

1. Go to Twitter.com in a web browser and locate the Search Twitter field at the top of the screen.

   

2. Type in a search term related to the images you want to find. For example, if you wanted to find images with dogs in them, you could simply type "dogs." As you type, results appear under in the column under the search field.

   

3. Select Photos at the top of the screen to filter out all tweets except those with images that match the search term.

   

4. Scroll to see relevant photos from the most recent tweets.

   

   Select any image to see it at full size.

   Twitter show you tweeted images based on whether the term you searched for was found in the tweeter's full name, the tweeter's username or the tweet itself.

How to Do an Advanced Twitter Image Search

If you need to search for more than just a particular keyword, phrase or hashtag, then a Twitter advanced search can come in handy. Here's how to use Twitter's advanced search tool to do an image search.

1. Tap in the Search Twitter field at the top right corner of the website.

   

2. Type your term in the search field and press Return.

   

3. Select Advanced search in the Search filters section at the top right side of the browser window to open an Advanced search screen.

   

   If you don't see Advanced Search but have been searching during the current session, tap Clear All or exit and return to Twitter.

4. You have several search fields you can fill out to get super specific about your image search. You can search by:

   • Words (All of these words, This exact phrase, Any of these words, None of these words, with or without hashtag)
   • Accounts (From these accounts, To these accounts, Mentioning these accounts)
   • Dates (From this date, To this date)
   • Many other criteria

   Scroll down to see all the options.

   

5. For example, if you want to search for images of dogs, but you only want to see image results from the account @dog_feelings and starting from the date of January 1, 2019 and onward, fill out the following fields:

   • All of these words: dogs
   • Any of these words: dogs, dog
   • From these accounts: dog_feelings
   • From this date: 2019-01-01

   Then tap the blue Search button.

   

6. Select Photos from the horizontal menu at the top to filter out all tweets except tweets with images.

   

7. Scroll to browse the image results. Select any image to see it in full.

   

8. Select the X in the upper left corner to return to the search results.

   

FAQ

• Can people see what you search on Twitter?

  No. Other Twitter users can't see or access your Twitter searches, and you can't see other users' Twitter searches. While Twitter keeps your search history, your search history is visible only to you.

• How do I search other people's tweets on Twitter?

  To search other people's tweets on Twitter, go to the profile of the person whose tweets you want to search and select the search icon (magnifying glass). A list of search results will appear. Tap Top to look at their top tweets, Latest for their latest tweets, Photos for their photo tweets, and Videos for their video tweets.

• How do I delete Twitter search suggestions?

  To delete Twitter search suggestions, open your Twitter account and select the search bar. You'll see your recent searches. Swipe left on any search topic and tap Delete to remove it. That phrase won't be suggested automatically.
